A Matterport tour already gives visitors two useful ways to understand a space: walking through it and viewing its Dollhouse. Xperio3D adds a third layer for projects where the surrounding site matters: an Exterior 3D Map created from a drone-captured Gaussian Splat.

How a Gaussian Splat connects to Matterport
Capture the exterior
Create a Gaussian Splat from drone photogrammetry, LiDAR or another compatible capture workflow.
Align the exterior scene
Upload the splat and align its orientation so the exterior view corresponds with the real site and Matterport model.
Create transition points
Place hotspots or handoff points at entrances, buildings or other shared landmarks.
Move between exterior and interior
A visitor can explore the site from above, select an entrance and continue inside the corresponding Matterport tour.
Can the Exterior 3D Map replace the Dollhouse view?
It can, but it does not have to. The standard setup keeps Walkthrough, Dollhouse and Exterior 3D Map as three complementary views. If an aerial site overview is more useful for a resort, estate, marina or other large property, Xperio3D can be configured to make the Gaussian Splat the primary 3D overview and hide the normal Dollhouse entry. This changes the presentation layer; the Matterport interior remains available.

Can you connect a Gaussian Splat with a Matterport tour?
Yes. Xperio3D treats the Gaussian Splat and Matterport model as connected spatial views. The exterior can contain transition points that open the corresponding Matterport interior, and visitors can return to the exterior experience.
Does the Gaussian Splat need to be inside Matterport?
No. The exterior scene and Matterport tour can remain separate renderers inside one Xperio3D experience. That keeps each technology in the role it handles best while the visitor experiences a connected journey.
Can a drone Gaussian Splat become the main 3D overview?
Yes. It can be presented as an Exterior 3D Map alongside the Matterport Dollhouse, or configured as the primary overview when that better explains the complete property.
Do I need to rescan the Matterport interior?
No. The exterior capture is added separately. An existing Matterport tour can remain unchanged while the Gaussian Splat is aligned and connected around it.
Which Gaussian Splat file formats does Xperio3D support?
The current Xperio3D workflow supports uploaded .ply, .splat and .spz files for the Gaussian Splat layer.
